Delaware

The Daily Delawhere for May 17, 2017

Not many famous architects have left their marks in Delaware. Charles Bulfinch allegedly designed Old College in Newark. Frank Lloyd Wright commissioned one of his Usonian houses north of Wilmington. I.M. Pei designed this highrise on 12th Street in Wilmington. Wilmington Tower, now known as 1105 Market Street, was completed in 1971 and is 286 feet tall. It resembles Pei’s Municipal Center in Dallas, Texas, which was completed in 1977. Pei took the design for this tower and proposed two identical buildings for Columbia University in New York City.

Delaware politics from a liberal, progressive and Democratic perspective. Keep Delaware Blue.
