Hey, look at that. Democrats and Republicans in Delaware can vote on imposing a new tax on something that may affect wealthy people, albeit indirectly. House Bill 86 imposes a 5 cent per gallon tax on aviation jet fuel on private planes and charters. The money raised by this tax will be deposited into the Transportation Trust Fund, which I suppose will be used for road infrastructure projects. The bill passed almost unanimously, 19-1-1 in the Senate and 39-1-1 in the House.
Take a lesson, Senators and Representatives. Since the passage of this tax, Delaware has not burst into flames nor has there been a mass evacuation from Chateau Country.
WHERE IS THE BILL? Passed House 39-1-1 and Senate 19-1-1. Sent to the Governor.
