Republicans have introduced two new tax bills, which have no chance getting out of committe this year, and perhaps ever. The first bill, House Bill 233, raises the minimum income to be subject to income tax from $2,000 to $2,500, and then collapsed all other tax rate brackets into three brackets, each with a reduced tax rate. So this is both a tax cut and a first step to a flat tax in Delaware, making our income tax structure, already incredibly unfair where a person making $60,000 pays the same tax rate as someone making $600,000 or $6,000,000 a year, more so.
