Senate Bill 149 would move the 2024 presidential primary election for major political parties from the fourth Tuesday in April to the first Tuesday of April. An early version of this bill, introduced originally as Senate Bill 140, gave the explict reason for the move as the confict with the Jewish holiday of Passover. This version of the bill does not give that reason, but it has the same effect.
