I mean, really?
Apparently, other surrounding states tax cigars less than we heathens in Delaware. The tax rate in Maryland is 15% and there is no tax on premium cigars in Pennsylvania. In Delaware, we tax cigars like the symbol of socio-economic privilege that they are, at 30%.
This bill lowers that rate to 20%. Which, kinda makes no sense. I mean, if you want to compete with Maryland, shouldn’t you lower it to 15%?
