The House passed a bill that will allow state causal, temporary or seasonal employees to enroll in the state pension/retirement plan. Currently, because they are causal, temporary, or seasonal employees, for reasons passing human understanding, they are excluded from the state’s 457(b) pension plan.
House Bill 130 passed 37-0-4 and is now in the Senate Executive Committee as of last week.
