Welcome Back! The House and Senate will both reconvene at 2:00 PM today.
The House today will consider two Concurrent Resolutions recognizing Women’s History Month in Delaware and Requesting the Delaware State Fire School Develop a Program for the Disposal of Aqueous Film Forming Foam. AFFF is a type of foam used to fight fires. Fire departments use AFFF to fight liquid-based fires (i.e., those started by oil, gasoline, or other flammable liquids). AFFF is highly concerning because it contains PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).
And then we get to the big agenda item for the day: House Bill 1, one part of the Delaware Marijuana Control Act. This bill would remove all penalties for possession of a personal use quantity of marijuana, except for those who are under 21 years of age. Possession of more than a personal use quantity of marijuana and public consumption would remain unclassified misdemeanors. A personal use quantity would be defined as one ounce or less of leaf marijuana, 12 grams or less of concentrated cannabis, or cannabis products containing 750 milligrams or less of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.
The Senate doesn’t have anything on its agenda, as you can see below.
