The Senate unanimously passed a bill that will require the Department of Corrections provide a copy of all policies relating to the accrual and forfeiture of good time credits for inmates.
House Bill 394 will require that a quarterly written accounting of good time credit earned and/or forfeited by produced by the DOC for the inmate. Furthermore, the bill establishes that an inmate can only lose his or her total balance of accrued good time if he or she were to commit a felony while they are incarcerated.
This bill is not only fair, but will provide incentives for inmates to maintain good behavior during their incarceration.
