192 Republicans Vote Against $28 Million for Baby Formula Shortage

Of course they did. While they want to take away your Social Security AND raise your taxes, they also want babies to starve. And let’s not forget that part of this problem is 45’s renegotiated NAFTA — which greatly restricted the import of Canadian-made formula. Largely because one of their largest plants is a Chinese investment. This bill would provide emergency funding to the FDA to increase the number of FDA inspection staff, provide resources for personnel working on formula issues, help the agency stop fraudulent baby formula from entering the US marketplace, and improve data collection on the formula market. HR 7791, the Access to Baby Formula Act, had more bipartisan support except for GOP Reps. Andy Biggs, Lauren Boebert, Thomas Massie, Clay Higgins, Matt Gaetz, Chip Roy, Paul Gosar, Louie Gohmert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

This is what real help looks like — President Biden is solving this baby formula shortage by:
1) invoking the Defense Production Act to remove the obstacles to increase domestic production, and:
2) authorizing commercial planes (Operation Fly Formula) to fly FDA-authorized formula in from abroad.

Americans need help now with this problem. Republicans don’t have any solutions, just cruelty, and contempt for those who do need help.

Vote this trash out. Vote for Democrats who will work for real solutions and support for American families.
