Presidential Primary moved to June 2

June 2nd is shaping up to be a huge second Super Tuesday. Connecticut, DC, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and now Delaware will be holding their presidential primaries on that day, after having moved them there from previous dates due to the Corona Pandemic. Governor Carney just made this announcement during his 6th modification of the State of Emergency Declaration.

“The additional protections in this order are essential to help support Delawareans — especially our most vulnerable neighbors — as this situation evolves,” Carney said in a statement. “This is an extremely challenging economic situation for many of our neighbors, and we need to do what we can to support them.”

In the same order, he barred landlords from evicting tenants, or charging late fees and interest, and prohibited utility providers from cutting off service or charging late fees. He also pushed local school board elections from May 12 to June 16.

Delaware politics from a liberal, progressive and Democratic perspective. Keep Delaware Blue.
