Upcoming Events

There are a number of political events that are coming up:

The September Democratic Presidential Primary Debate is on Thursday, September 12, and the Kent County Dems are hosting a Debate Watch party at the Greene Turtle in Dover. The party starts at 7 pm with complimentary food and drink, with the debate starting at 8 pm.

On Saturday, September 14, it’s the annual political event of the year, the Sussex Democratic Jamboree, hosted by the Sussex County Democratic Party. It will feature all of our top Democratic leaders, not to mention some delicious barbecue. Tickets are just $30

If you are interested in running for office, or you want to work on a campaign, then the Delaware Democratic Party has scheduled campaign training at the DelTech Terry Campus in Dover on October 5, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  From Democratic Party Executive Director Jesse Chadderdon:

For the second year running, we are proud to be partnering with the National Democratic Training Center for the NDTC Blue Bench Training designed to help us build our ranks of candidates, campaign workers, and volunteers. This training isn’t simply for folks considering a run for office next fall, it’s for committee members, volunteers, even rank and file Democrats who simply want to learn the baseline skills that make for an effective campaigner. If you’ve been thinking that you can’t simply stay on the sidelines this year, this is a great first step toward playing a part in our shared progress.

The 14th District Dems will be holding their regular meeting on Wednesday, September 11, at the Forgotten Mile Ale House [20859 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971], Route 1 between Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach.  The dutch treat dinner/social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.   The program will feature State Election Commissioner Anthony Albence. He will be speaking about the new Delaware voting machines and election security. They also expect to receive an update and comments from Speaker of the House Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth.

Delaware politics from a liberal, progressive and Democratic perspective. Keep Delaware Blue.

One more — Wilmington Democrats will be at the Hispanic Festival in Wilmington on Sunday to register voters, signup volunteers and remind people that we have to turn out big in 2020.
