The Robert Kirkwood Library, on Kirkwood Highway in suburban Wilmington. The library was built in 2009. The white wide facing Kirkwood Highway is meant to evoke stacks of books. Kirkwood Library, and the highway next to the library, were named for Major Robert Kirkwood, a Revolutionary War hero who was a member of the famous Blue Hen’s Chickens. Photo by xzmattzx.
