This bill, modeled on similar laws in Virginia and Maryland, requires a health-care provider to provide notice to a patient that the blood test for Lyme Disease that he or she is about to be tested for may not actually work due the test’s limitations. Thus, the health care providers are to tell the patient that if they get a negative result on the test but still have unexplained symptoms, that they are to come back to get further tests and examinations.
