HB49 – Refundable Earned Income Tax Credit

Representative Paul Baumbach is back this session with his bill to make the earned income tax credit refundable instead of nonrefundable.  from nonrefundable to refundable. For tax year 2020 and thereafter, an individual who is a resident of this State shall be entitled to a credit against the individual’s tax under this chapter in an amount of 5.9 percent of the corresponding federal earned income tax credit allowed to the individual.  Here is Represenative Baumbach explaining it better:
