Countdown to Election Day — How You Can Help Delaware Democrats GOTV

It’s Time. I know that many of Blue Delaware’s readers have been really engaged with helping state and local Dem candidates engage with voters over the past several months. Now we’re at crunch time and as VP Biden noted today, it is time to leave everything on the field. Can you do a little bit more (or volunteer now) to help get Democrats across the finish line?

Here’s what you can do:

Statewide Day of Action November 3, 2018 — DelDems are coming together — volunteers, candidates, current office holders — to knock as many doors as we can across the state that day. There are three shifts of canvassing and we provide training and some candidates to work with. Grab some friends or your family members and sign up for a shift:
Wilmington

NCCO:
Newark
DelDems HQ
Hockessin
Brandywine
Middletown

Kent County:
Dover

Sussex County:
Sussex HQ

Each of these offices will also conduct phone banks that day, but we really want as many of us as possible out meeting other Democrats — reminding them to go vote, making sure they know where their polling place is and making sure they can get to that polling place. Whether you canvass or phone bank — talking to Democrats is fun this year, we’re all fired up and ready to go.

Regular Phone Banks and Canvasses — each county has opportunities to canvass and phone bank pretty much every day. We’ve got all of the available opportunities listed in Mobilize America. Search through until you find something close to you and sign up.

Election Day Volunteering — every Coordinated office and every campaign needs volunteers on Tuesday. It is a work day for most of us, but an hour or two before work, after work or at lunch would be a massive help. All Coordinated offices will still be conducting phone banks and canvasses to get Democrats to the polls. In addition, most offices are looking for folks who can provide rides to the polls. There may be other tasks as well (in Wilmington, we want some help distributing lunch to greeters at the polls) and you can sign up for duty here.

Last, DelDems are hosting a watch party at the Wilmington Doubletree. Come help us cheer on victories (and whoever is hitting the refresh key for election results)!

(If you have any questions about any of this or want some additional help or info, feel free to leave that in a comment, or email me at the above link.)

Thanks for everything that you are doing to create the Delaware Blue Wave!
