Polling Report for September 14, 2018

A new CNN poll finds Democrats leading Republicans in the generic congressional ballot by 10 points, 52% to 42% among likely voters.

Among just registered voters, Democrats hold a 12-point lead.

Key finding: “The President is a negative motivator for a majority of voters, according to the poll, with 54% saying they would be more apt to support a candidate who opposes President Trump.”

A new Washington Post-KFF poll found that nearly one year after Hurricane Maria, many Puerto Ricans are still struggling with basic necessities.

The survey found that a full 83% of residents said they have suffered either major property damage, long-term loss of electricity, employment setbacks or worsening health problems.

Key takeaways: 93% of residents said their roads and highways remain dangerous and 50% said their households lacked an adequate supply of drinking water.

A new series of Fox News polls shows five key U.S. Senate races all within the margin of error:

• Arizona: Kyrsten Sinema (D) 47%, Martha McSally (R) 44%
• Indiana: Mike Braun (R) 45%, Joe Donnelly (D) 43%
• Missouri: Claire McCaskill (D) 44%, Josh Hawley (R) 41%
• North Dakota: Kevin Cramer (R) 48%, Heidi Heitkamp (D) 44%
• Tennessee: Marsha Blackburn (R) 47%, Phil Bredesen (D) 44%
