Daily Delawhere for August 11, 2018

This is one of the last remaining sections of rail left in Lewes, as it is being rapidly removed for scrap since it was decommissioned last year. This spur used to provide rail service to Fort Miles and Fish Products and then later for Barcroft. Coal was brought in to supply Fort Miles and Fish Products. War materials were also delivered to Fort Miles. Tank loads of fish oil and box cars loaded with fish meal were sent from Fish Products to various locations. Photo by Scott Bunting.
