Anyone Know if Senators Carper and Coons Would Vote to Overturn the FCC and Get Us Real Net Neutrality?

There is an effort to get a vote on a Congressional Review action to overturn the action the FCC took to undermine Net Neutrality.  In the Senate, this needs 51 votes (at least one GOP vote) and in the House, this will need 60 or so GOP votes.

Getting back Net Neutrality is not an especially partisan issue.  And is something most industries (not the telecoms) want.  So how will Senators Carper and Coons vote on this?  I can’t find anything yet, but in the meantime, get in touch with them to ask.  The Vote for Net Neutrality site will give you all the background, the process, an inventory of the Senators who will vote for this AND a way to tweet at these two to ask them to vote for it.

So what are you waiting for?  Ask them to support this NOW.  Let us know if you hear anything from either of them.

  1. Damn fine question, it’s the obvious will of the people vs. the lobbyists and payoffs of the cable industry. But this time it’s going to be hard for our two favorite DINOS to hide. I continue to call and leave a message, usually starting with “85% of the American people have spoken”. Even if they didn’t give you a bag of cash in small, unmarked bills.

Claire McCaskill (via Twitter) notes that she is the 30th vote for this effort which gets it on the Senate agenda.

  3. Carper’s position circa August 2017: https://imgur.com/gallery/TFgRH
