Child Protection Day at Blue Rocks Game

On August 20, the Beau Biden Foundation (BBF) will host “Child Protection Day” at Frawley Stadium to provide with fans and families with information and tools focused on the importance of child safety education. The BBF will be present throughout the game to speak with fans and create Child ID Kits for families. The Wilmington Blue Rocks and the BBF will honor Canal Little League’s softball team prior to the game. The team is currently participating in the Little League World Series in Portland, Oregon.

In partnership with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, the BBF will host a clinic for up to 150 local youth immediately following the Blue Rocks game. The youth clinic will include baseball/softball stations focused on basic infield, outfield and hitting skills, as well as a chance to play Quickball, a fast-paced, easy to learn version of baseball. Youth participants will also have a chance to meet with law enforcement mentors and learn about the dangers of cyber bullying, as presented by the Beau Biden Foundation. Following the clinic, Grotto Pizza will be supplying a pizza party for the participants.

The Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children was established in June 2015 as an operating non-profit to continue Beau Biden’s commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us, especially children who have fallen victim to abuse and neglect.
