Delaware

It is time for Carney to join this list.

So Kris Kobach, the horrid voter supressing Secretary of State of Kansas who is also the Co-Chair of Donald’s Make Me Feel Better About My Popular Vote Loss Commission has sent a letter to all 50 states requesting their full voter-roll data, including the name, address, date of birth, party affiliation, last four Social Security number digits and voting history back to 2006 of potentially every voter in the state.   While civil-liberties advocates are concerned with what Kobach might do with what would amount to a nationwide voter file, privacy advocates worry about the implications of making such data available to the public, as the commission says it intends to do.

Several states — California,  Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York and Virginia — have refused to comply at all with the request. Many have said they will provide publicly available information — including Indiana, the home state of current Vice President and commission chair Mike Pence.  Hell, even Kris Kobach has denied Kris Kobach’s request, according to the Kansas City Star reports.

Governor Carney, I know it is a busy time, but it is time to add Delaware to this list.

Delaware politics from a liberal, progressive and Democratic perspective. Keep Delaware Blue.

  1. Hmm… Don’t see DE in the list, that needs to change immediately.

The interesting thing about the State response to this is that many states have laws against releasing some of this info. So the response so far ranges from Hell No to we can send you what we could give to anyone else.

Which tells you what right out of the gate? They are NEVER going to get enough reliable and conformed data to make any claims whatsoever about the voting system.

Governor Carney needs to add Delaware’s name to the list yesterday.

  4. regarding Kris Kobach and his request for the states to give his “Commission” all of the voter records registration information. No Way should we ever concede to this. California has already denied the request from the “Not My President” who said millions of illegal voters voted for Clinton in California. If we give him these records just watch how many Democratic voters disappear off of the roles!
Call or email our State Elections Commissioner and let her know how you feel:
    STATE ELECTION COMMISSIONER
    Elaine Manlove
    905 S. Governors Ave,
    Suite 170, Dover DE 19904
    Telephone: (302) 739-4277
    Email: coe_vote@state.de.us

    I called her!
Remember, the Republicans can’t win if they discuss issues that, they know, nobody likes so they only way they can win is to keep people from voting.
Hey, you can also give spineless Carney a call as well!

  5. I thought it was the Secretaries of State who received this letter. Who even knew that Delaware had a Secretary of State (I sure didn’t). It’s Jeffrey W. Bullock: http://sos.delaware.gov/secretary-state-jeffrey-w-bullock/. But to cover all the bases, I’m calling Carney and Manlove as well.

  6. The DE sec of state has nothing to do with elections. In DE the commissioner of elections is in charge.
