The bad news is that Senators Joe Manchin and Heidi Heitkamp said that they are going to vote to for Gorsuch. The good news is that Senator Claire McCaskill is voting no, and voting to filibuster, making it all the more likely that the Senate Democrats will force Republicans to go nuclear if they want to confirm Neil Gorsuch. So it is now more important than ever that we keep up the pressure on our own Senator, Chris Coons.
Here is the current plan. Demand Progress is going to reserve and fund a bus leaving from Wilmington on Tuesday at around 8:00 am. It will depart from the Riverfront.
We need 20 to 30 people to sign up.
At 10:00 or so the volunteers will get some quick training on having some impact on the Senator. (There will be no risk of arrest)
The group will proceed to Coons’ Senate office and either meet with Coons or staff.
Leave DC to return to Wilmington around 4:00.
Let us know in the comments if you are interested in going.
According to this , Gorsuch won’t meet with some female Senators. Why not filibuster someone who doesn’t care about the institution? Solidarity, Senator.
