I know, I know, I am still regaining consciousness myself. Good on Tom Carper for doing it. Good on Bernie Sanders for doing it. Here are the details:
Our First Stand Rally With Sen. Tom Carper
Now is the time to fight back and save health care!
At a time when the United States remains the only major country on earth not to guarantee health care to all as a right, the Republicans want to throw nearly 30 million people off of health insurance, make massive cuts to Medicaid and defund Planned Parenthood.
On Friday, January 13, join Sen. Tom Carper, doctors and nurses to tell Republicans loudly and clearly: You are not going to get away with it.
RSVP does not guarantee a seat. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Friday, January 13, 2017
Sen. Tom Carper
St. Francis Hospital (Wilmington, DE)
701 N Clayton St
Wilmington, DE 19805
Wilmington, DE 19805
I’m going to try and attend.
Not able to make it, bad on me as this is an unexpected good one for Carper. Surprised to say the least, but suspect his nibs Carper will not be above a little across the aisle reaching on this one.
Don’t forget that Carper was one of the D votes against a public option for the ACA.
Is this just Carper or Bernie too?
Good question. I guess I assumed he was since it was on Bernie’s website linked above.
Delaware united made some phone calls last week, as we seen there was no events here in Delaware to coinside with the Bernie launch. We were going to set the events up, but thought it would be best, due to short notice, to reach out to coons and carper to see if they could set it up; as they clearly would have better resources and abilities to get permits. Neither Carper nor coons’ aides knew what we were talking about when we called. However, within about 4 hours we received return calls and two events were initially created. There is another in seaford as well. The sign up on the Bernie web page were just added this morning. We have still not heard back from coons about any plans to help or attend.
Thanks for doing this!
